Thanks.

Yep, time to finally implement that ban on TikTok.

It's bananas that a law passed by Congress, signed by a president, and vetted by the Supreme Court isn't being enforced because Donald Trump has a thing for TikTok, or something.

It's an issue that we all should be able to agree on.

So try not to mess that up with needless partisanship.

I heard Andy Ngo talk about this in January on the Lotus Eaters. He mentioned that the CEO of Tiktok donated a lot of money to the Trump campaign, I believe he [CEO] may also have attended the inauguration, ugh! The Tiktok ban rhetoric was then reframed from a national security threat to an appeal to preserving free speech, but this is a no-brainer. Tiktok needs to go.

Thank you so much for writing about this!!!

Billionaire Jeff Yass already owns influential shares in TicToc as does Sequoia the Silicon valley company.

Yass is known for funding Netanyahu's judicial takeover. The owner of zTicToc is not China, but Singaporean allied to Malaysia. See below:

It was an arrogant and completely naive underestimation of how China would respond to an economic attack. China holds all the cards and is playing them. At the same time the US has made China look like a more trustworthy and reliable trading partner and has opened the door to growing Chinese influence and outrageous shows of military strength, such as boldly executing live firing exercises off our coast as they navigated around our country without the courtesy of notifying our government. May Trump and his corrupt conspirators rot in hell for what they’ve unleashed.

Also, even after all of this - in effect imposing economic sanctions on his own country and intending to not even be a "stable" dictator others can do business with - Trump still apparently doesn't grasp what tariffs actually are and who pays them.

What a myopic article! It is the US that is messing with the world economy. It is no position to moan about China or any other country taking measures to defend itself US imperial bullying.

Eh, they already do a great job of defending themselves by stealing all of our intellectual property and using it against us 👍🏼

Great news, thank you Colin!

I am sorry, what do you expect, China to not respond to decades of hostility from the US?

What, you think the planet is yours?

Regardless of your opinion on Trump's tariff policy (I am personally against it), it should very much concern you that a foreign superpower is using a social media app they own, and which is banned in their own country, to propagandize directly to the American people and being used as a weapon in a trade war against us. TikTok should be banned immediately.

Trump is the one who prevented the ban from going into effect in the first place.

Also being English, I now care rather less about how China responds to the United States' mad emperor in effect imposing economic sanctions on his own country with a nonsensical tariff policy now that America is becoming a hostile far right authoritarian and expansionist regime that keeps threatening Canada.

I don't really care about those tariffs. I consider Trump a weak, lying, pathetic, Zionist leader. Also, fat. Also, deceiving the right to go in the wrong direction, and pacifying it.

Both US and China are foreign to me. I do not share your national loyalty, nor do I consider large countries "great" or worthy of respect.

If you get propagandized, it's because you deserve it.

Radio Free Europe, rings any bells? The vast amount of CIA operations?

How about Trump's attacks on freedom of expression, to protect what? Israel?

Incredibly pathetic.

Propagandize better, or do counterpropaganda. You're a smart intellectual.

You'll eventually figure out something better than

"OMG! SHUT IT DOWN!"

lol if only

I am simply self-aware enough to recognize that large countries like the US and China and Russia will compete and try to fuck with each other.

My observation is reality, fact based and undeniable even.

Imagine simping for one of these countries.

But wait...

You're actually some flavor of yankee, right?

So you will be simping for your own country?

Very unimpressive, if you ask me! Be more detached!

Do you know Stefan Molymeme?

You should! He originated the above.

So, what's your counter argument
