I think it was Marcuse who said that the way to instigate a Communist revolution in the West, where people were generally too prosperous and happy to want to overthrow everything, is to induce mass psychpathology -- in modern terms, increase the number of people with serious mental illness. All of this is intentional.

There are a couple of reasons:

1-People incapable of managing their own lives will demand the state manage their lives

2-People convinced that everyone is against them are willing to commit atrocities, especially when they believe that everyone everywhere is trying to screw them over.

3-The only way to overthrow the most free and prosperous civilization in the history of the world is push enough people into seeing the world with a tragically distorted view of reality.

1-3: I completely agree.

Chris Rufo or James Lindsay might be able to identify the source of this statement. I think they both have done a deep dive into Marcuse's thinking.

Good point!

I would presume that different proponents of CRT have differing motivations, and that there are many true believers. But it must be opposed. It is doing too much harm.

Oh agreed! I think most adherents of any ideology are true believers. But while I won't criticize their heart, I *will* criticize their ideas.

> Perhaps both of those encourage worse mental health among the young people who sign on to this ideology.

Perhaps the CRT people actually know that. Perhaps worse mental health is the goal.

In some cases it very literally is the goal (see: Kumashiro here https://www.realityslaststand.com/p/why-queer-theory-appeals-to-young).

It is my sincere hope (and belief) that that sort of pathology is rare among adherents.

Thanks. Basically I'm just doing some conspiratorial whistling. Some ideas are so toxic that one almost wishes they were being pushed by some deep malevolence rather than just good old fashioned stupidity.

Never underestimate the power of stupidity.....

I know it. Still one longs for evil. One can fight evil, one can defeat it. But when an entire civilization has gone senile, what's to be done?

Maybe what the Dems did to Biden?

DiAngelo has proclaimed “Racism is the foundation of Western society“. Christianity and or The Enlightenment seemingly had trivial impacts in comparison.

Adorney and Johnson are correct about scant evidence from DiAngelo. In her PhD thesis one can find the ‘scientific’ basis of her wide ranging conclusions. Using ‘whiteness theory’ DiAngelo explains she observed “interracial discourses” ie 4 two hour discussions of 12 student preschool teachers, (7 white 5 black) in a structured environment run by folk “trained to lead dialogues on race”. From this totally unrepresentative sample of the 330 million US population, in a coercive environment, it will come as a surprise to nobody that all she really does is confirm her own biases and prejudices about a racial hierarchy.

This monumental work, all 9.755 MB, is online at University of Washington Seattle. It’s almost as difficult a read as Newton’s Philosophiae Naturalis Principia. But that was just by a secretive middle aged white man who didn’t interview anyone, let alone a person of colour, and so presumably had much less effect on the development of Western societies.

Excellent article, excellent series!

The writing was very clear, the reasoning impeccable. I so wish that people who need to learn the lessons being taught here would read these pieces. Speaking as a practicing psychologist, the analysis was entirely accurate and offers valuable corrective strategies to those who are lost in destructive false beliefs about themselves and others.

It's an old topic, and some people believe it's the product of the Frankfurt School theorists and might be regarded as conspiratorial for that reason. Kevin MacDonald has had another angle on it, but wouldn't say "conspiracy."

What's new. The Democratic party has been brainwashing blacks that they are useless for at least 6 decades. This makes them the saviors of black people. Mentally it can make one feel that their only hope is more white guys to help them. Then they "help" them with more giveaways. All this torture to get their vote. Unfortunately, this latest barrage of nonsense is insidious and very damaging.
