Thank you! There is a growing tendency for some on the political left to not refer to people as being male or female, but rather claim that they were merely “assigned” male or female at birth. This is especially common in the trans community where being transgender is
Thank you for a rational, common-sense, science-driven article. The PC left is destroying itself with irrational nonsense that causes very predictable reactions by conservatives. Are some of these conservative bigots? No doubt. But to pretend that sex is "assigned" is idiotic and most people don't respond well to idiocy. I'm old enough to remember Cristine Jorgenson and of course the much later Renee Richards. They did their thing and most people didn't really care one way or the other (except, in the case of Richards, women professional tennis players. Luckily for them, Richards wasn't that good). Today's trans people are a different story. There's also evidence that trans self-identification is in part due to social contagion (as was the case with many eating disorder outbreaks).
Oh yes, dear... The first memory I have is of the Assigned-at-Birth-Sorting-Hat-wearing delivery room doctor solemnly removing his giant hat, placing me inside of it, and the hat booming, "it's another bloody female!" (
I just cancelled my Bari Weiss subscr. because of the outrageous lies she told in her podcast and newsletter–“Lia Thomas is a transgender woman, who is now the star of the women’s swim team at Penn…”– I decided her subscription $ would go to you!) https://irislee.substack.com/p/open-letter-to-bari-weiss?s=w

I’ve been hoping someone else besides me understands that nothing is “assigned at birth”
It rather you are your biology. Thank you
