Weekly Recap
Boston Children’s Hospital fallout, AAP and ‘gender-affirming’ care, a 10-year-old ‘trans’ model, gender woo in Science, SciAm chooses politics over truth, a Canadian doctor speaks out, and more!
Dear Reader,
As many of you know, I have been locked out of my Twitter account for posting a cartoon I had created to go with a recent article by Eliza Mondegreen titled “Trans Activism and the Road Not Taken.” According to Twitter, this cartoon constituted “hateful conduct.” That accusation is completely absurd, and I am currently in the process of appeal.
This is not a simple 12-hour ban and slap on the wrist. Rather, I am being asked to delete the tweet and, in doing so, admitting to have violated Twitter’s Rules against hateful conduct before being allowed back on Twitter. This will create a track record of violating Twitter’s Rules, and will no doubt be used to justify my permanent suspension in the future. That is why I’m waiting this out as long as possible: Twitter is essential to my career as a journalist and editor of a publication, and I cannot afford to have my account given unjust strikes by Twitter employees with a political axe to grind.
If you would like to follow my work while I am off Twitter, you can do so by becoming a free or paying subscriber below, and by following Reality’s Last Stand on Twitter.
As always, thank you for your support, and please enjoy this week’s Weekly Recap newsletter!
Sincerely,
Colin Wright
