I salute you for doing this and for your patience and fortitude in fighting against all this obvious nonsense. The Gender zealots are not particularly bright people and the best way to combat them is just to ask simple pointed questions like you did and then see how stupid it all sounds. All they can do is talk in circles about their feelings, either purposely or accidentally admit that their entire program is founded on regressive sex stereotypes, and then finish with the same Think of the Children! emotional blackmail.

If lies, nonsense, circular thinking, emotional manipulation and ignorance were weather events, it would mean you'd just survived a hurricane!

Gender zealots also include highly-educated people, who have been pushed into the support of gender falsity by pressure from professional societies.

Unfortunately, many young people with high IQ fall prey to transgender cult. And then there are those who are cynically support this crap for personal gain, people who are not stupid but are immoral. I wish it was as simple as something that only not-so-bright believe and support.

I always knew viruses, bacterial infections, parasites could be caught by coming into contact with these things, and sometimes certain ones make you physically sick, especially if you have immature or weak immune system. This whole article makes me wonder if these harmful social contagions aren’t actually better described as contagions of mental illness one is more likely to catch if they have a weak or immature mind..............

Hi Colin,

Fantastic work here laying out the entire mess and asking these questions. I’m in Toronto, Canada and I am ashamed but not surprised at all that this workshop was put on by Canadians. It shows you how bad things are up here. These types of workshops are used to educate teachers.

I’m mom to ROGD teen and work for a “progressive” company so I’ve heard all of this garbage for years now.

I’ve also attended these things online and tried to ask what I think are questions that will expose them for the deluded garbage peddlers that they are but it doesn’t happen, in part because of the way other parents seem to be on board.

Really effing depressing.

I think there’s probably also more than a little Dunning-Kruger effect going on -- when people are a certain level of dumb, they’re just not intellectually capable of recognizing how dumb they are.

Yeah. That and, in the same vein, "a little learning is a dangerous thing". Amplified by various transactivists who are scientifically illiterate, though many so-called teachers are equally clueless.

An oldish case in point being transwoman Indya Moore who claimed that "if a woman has a penis, her penis is a biologically female penis":

https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2019/02/19/pose-indya-moore-trans-penises-biologically-female/

One might reasonably ask "her", if you call a dog's tail a leg then how many legs does it have? 🙄 "The quality goes in before the name goes on."

https://quoteinvestigator.com/2015/11/15/legs/

But both Pink News and Huff Post picked up on the story and a related one about how a "New York biology teacher clapped back at a transphobic Facebook meme with a brilliant, scientifically based exposition that’s now going viral":

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/biology-teacher-transphobia_n_58b9cb01e4b0b99894177b63?section=women

"scientifically based exposition" -- what a joke. Hardly surprising about Pink News, though one sort of expected better of Huff Post. But hard to believe the claptrap that came out of that teacher's mouth; her Facebook post and my response thereto:

Quote:

What a pile of unscientific if not anti-scientific claptrap.

You might try reading the biological definitions for the sexes endorsed by several mainstream biological journals (Theoretical Biology, & Molecular Human Reproduction [MHR]), as well as by Oxford Dictionaries. From the Glossary of MHR:

"Female: Biologically, the female sex is defined as the adult phenotype that produces [present tense indefinite] the larger gametes in anisogamous systems.

Male: Biologically, the male sex is defined as the adult phenotype that produces [present tense indefinite] the smaller gametes in anisogamous systems."

https://academic.oup.com/molehr/article/20/12/1161/1062990

And the Oxford Dictionaries say pretty much the same thing:

https://web.archive.org/web/20181020204521/https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/female

https://web.archive.org/web/20190608135422/https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/male

By both of which, to have a sex is to have functional gonads of either of two types; those with neither are, ipso facto, sexless. Definitions which apply to all of the several million anisogamous species -- not just to the human one.

Unquote.

Hi Sad_Mom, Canadian? I'm one of three women who campaigned – we all did so as Independents, and on 'stop-trans-ideology K-12' platforms – for school board seats here in Vancouver in our October civic election. I can tell you that it's far worse than you imagine.

We were attacked and/or slandered; and/or our position attacked and slandered by: the City Elections office; by American Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream; by our fed gov (via one of its many propaganda arms, the "Anti-Hate Network", which just lost a lawsuit against Jon Kay/Barbara Kay); by CBC; and by public school principals. We were threatened with one police call, and the police were called once (no, we weren't doing anything wrong, and the police never even bothered to follow up). We were shut out of any possible mainstream coverage; a personal vehicle was keyed; and a personal residence was targeted. Corus, Bell, and our transit system refused our ads (while the transit company sported a trans-flag-with-black-fist ad on its buses, paid for by the transit union).

That's just off the top of my head, so apologies that it's written as a mess. That's just three mothers with no funding, campaigning for the school board. The schools and universities are flaming dumpster fires of trans ideology. We lost, but despite being shut out of any mainstream press coverage, having no party support, and being misrepresented everywhere, we somehow still won about 9K votes each, which is a testament to word-of-mouth support by sane Vancouverites.

If you follow Rebel Media you will have heard about the Vancouver dad who was jailed for "misgendering" his own minor daughter in the midst of a fight with his ex-wife over the "transition" of their daughter. School libraries are filled with trans porn. Our public library system has been COMPLETELY swallowed by gender ideology. The flag flies in every library, and little elementary-school-age backpacks are given to kids and filled with promotional lies.

I could continue on and on. It's bad here. I'm sorry to hear about your child.

Hi Citizen Ex-Left,

(Yes, ex-left applies to me, too). I believe you about how bad it is there. It is worse than Toronto. Thank you for your fight. Like many Canadians, I didn’t pay close enough attention, didn’t understand the ramifications when the Rape Crisis Centre was attacked years ago. Having an ROGD kid brought it home for me.

I’m always looking to support this fight in Canada. If there’s a way for us to connect, please let me know.

Sad_Mom, It was so well-funded, complex, behind-the-scenes, and insidious that I don't think anyone could've paid enough attention, or even prevented it from happening. Reading American Jennifer Bialik's writing (only lately!) about ARC funding to the Maritimes made my head spin. It was a multi-pronged, multi-directional attack on regular Canadians that we could never have seen coming.

I'm reachable at zeldalevine2022@gmail.com anytime. My real name was on my Twitter and here, also, til after the election. Then my name wasn't necessary.

As a fellow Canuck, I'm likewise "ashamed but not surprised" by the rot that transgenderism has wrought -- so to speak -- in many of our governmental institutions and NGOs. Did you, perchance, see Statistics Canada's call for "participation and consultation" on their "gender and sexual diversity statistical metadata standards"?

https://www.statcan.gc.ca/en/concepts/consult-variables/gender

An absolute pile of horse crap, circular definitions, and anti-scientific claptrap, Whoever was responsible for that there should be fired if not run out of town on a rail. After being tarred and feathered .... Been thinking of contacting the Minister responsible for that department to complain, not least because I never did get any sort of response to what I had submitted to them in March of 2021:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kRIpfkx0sq8y0nC7HBK6GyMiI_SUv_zv/view

Though Statistics Canada is not the only such department to be similarly corrupted since those of Britain and New Zealand are just as guilty. Something of a general critique of all three in this Substack post of mine:

Wish I had seen that earlier. Unfortunately, this call for comments is only about REPORTING of gender stupidity shit. It has nothing to do with actual DEFINITION of the concept of gender stupidity. The whole transstupid shit depends on the myth that "femaleness" is a defined concept, so that a male who has a "female brain" can define that. Since the personal sense of "gender" is complete nonsense, and ABSOLUTELY UNVERIFIABLE OBJECTIVELY, it's all "lived experience" which means that it's a complete delusion.

The "Gender Galaxy" is a new one to me. I'll keep my language civil...that is BAD. The whole thing is a horror show.

Edit: I came back later when I had time to read the whole thing. It's HORRIFYING. My eyes popped out of my head a few times, and I had to put them back into their sockets. It's beyond Kubrick or Kafka or Orwell. So, "male" and "female" are "colonialist" constructs, yes? And nobody in the room laughed out loud? Or vomited? I can't even believe we're living through this. Did you go out for a stiff drink after suffering this for two hours IRL? I can't even take the replay.

This gender-identity stuff is 100% a religion, and not just because it doesn't make rational sense. It has many of the earmarks of a religion:

1. An esoteric belief system

2. A highly specialized language for discussing that belief system

3. A method of punishing heretics

4. No sense of humor about any of it

The only thing that distinguishes gender identity theory from a cult is that cults usually seem to have a central authority figure who hands down judgments on what is right and wrong. These gender people lack such a figure, and in fact always seem to be constantly monitoring each other for the least sign of heresy. Those who are found wanting are summarily reviled and exiled.

Thanks for enduring this seminar, and for sharing what you found.

I received almost exact same training by my employer except that my similar questions and statements that sex exists and that it is not the same as gender (roles) was seen as “transphobic.” Right before the Dobbs decision came out, I got involved in an abortion discussion initiated by the executive director of our agency who welcomed staff comment. After I stated that abortion bans harm women as a sex, all hell broke loose, I was called a “TERF” and bigot because lots of genders can get pregnant. A few days later without warning after 20 years of employment I was fired. I would be glad to share more information if you are interested.

Also I urge that you add two gender critical groups to your list of supporting groups: Feminists in Struggle (https://feminist struggle.org) and Green Alliance for Sex Based Rights. https://greenalliance.sexbasedrights.org.

I listened to your article on the Substack reader. What stood out for me other than the seminar leader's inability to define anything cogently, was the heavy reliance on verbal crutches: "like" and especially ending sentences with the word "right?". Tagging "right" to the end of every sentence is such a manipulative move. I hate it. The speaker had no real evidence to back up their points so they follow every statement with the word "right?". They are trying to gain credibility from the listener by eliciting passive agreement to each statement. If someone was to keep saying "right?" all the time in conversation, I would interject, "not necessarily" every time to avoid being drawn in to agreement when there is none. I think they like to take the listeners empathetic listening style and use it against them. Anyway, thank you Colin, for taking on the task of sitting through this and asking the tough questions that truly any normal person can answer in a sane world.

It’s amazing that the idea that kids will kill themselves en masse if they can’t “transition” to the opposite sex is so prevalent. How does such a lightweight theory become so commonly held?

Is being trans a biological phenomenon? I always assumed trans activists believed it to be. If so, why hasn’t human history been peppered with suicide in children and adolescents with so-called gender dysphoria? Even before we knew what it was--in Mesopotamia, Machu Picchu, Renaissance Florence, Victorian London, pre-colonial Australia, Weimar Berlin--human culture would have been dominated by art and literature relating to this mysterious affliction causing so many children to kill themselves.

But that didn’t happen, suggesting this is merely a social phenomenon--a decadent contagion. The idea that children will kill themselves when they can’t “become” the opposite sex is completely new, and to the extent that does happen it is very likely to be a self-fulfilling prophecy caused by gender theorists brainwashing kids into thinking they’re miserable.

Minors transitioning is an entirely new thing and all the research on trans suicide was compiled by lifetime risks. Historically those diagnosed with Persistant Gender Dysphoria had high lifetime suicidality whether they transitioned or not. Lifetime Suicidality is the aggregate of failed and completed suicides over the course of an entire life. For the those that complete suicides it used to be much older white males not young children. This used to be a very small % of the population (under 0.1%). You can imagine how cross dressers in their 60s offing themselves might not cause great alarm. Because the gender madness went into full gear recently we have an explosion of mostly minors who are not actually gender dysphoric transitioning. Historically most trans people were very poor, worked in sex industry and most had severe drug habits. The famous stories of trans homicides that elites harp on show it is still people in this demographic getting killled but it's all drug and relationship related. It's not straight homophobes going. Nowadays by contrast the bulk of those transitioning are women not men and they are the wealthier demographics, and they all go on to get jobs in normal industries. The trans activists used all the old research to extrapolate and infer young people who were denied "treatment" would have the same high suicide rates as 60 year old sex worker drug addicts.

"So yes, “man” and “woman” are defined by social roles and stereotypes, and you are a man or a woman if your “internal sense of self” reflects those stereotypes."

- I can't believe how incredibly regressive this ideology is. Feminism fought decade after decade to leave these "social roles" and "stereotypes" to the dustbin of history and gender ideology has pulled them out of the trash, dusted them off and now presents them as something radical and new and oh so 'post-modern.' I would call it "post-reality." Amazing and frightening in equal measure!

Brilliant analysis. Thank you so much for exposing this nonsense and taking the time to do it so incisively. I'm wondering if you or anyone else you know has done a comprehensive review/critique of the so-called National Sex Education Standards? See https://advocatesforyouth.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/NSES-2020-web.pdf . This has actually been statutorily mandated to be taught in Illinois public schools. In other words, the State of Illinois has actually farmed out the teaching of sex education in our public schools to a private gender-ideology advocacy coalition that produced this thing. It's absolutely shocking. I am doing legal research on a possible legal challenge to try to get the law struck down as a violation of the Illinois constitution. I welcome any input or suggestions. Meanwhile, Colin, I applaud you for standing up for science and reality.

Hello Richard, As a retired early childhood teacher, I can tell you that the content they developed puts children in danger of walking into the arms of child sexual molesters. I suggest you use those 3 words, as "pedophile" is not a correct term. The material is far too sexually explicit. As in the workshop Colin exposes here, children in middle childhood are called "tweens," with the implicit message that they are for all purposes, teens, therefore sexually aware, possibly active. Traditionally, teachers were trained, as I was, to avoid sexual references with primary school children. Children who come to school making sexual references or movements or engaging in talk about sex used to be taken aside, taken to the counselor, interviewed, to figure out what they were being exposed to/forced into. This is basic child safeguarding. Hopefully you can find an ethical psychologist to testify about this. Ute Heggen, uteheggengrasswidow.wordpress.com

Good. Legal challenges and law changes are the way to go. Everyone knows that sex cannot be changed. But legal sex can and is being changed in school records and on driver's licenses. Our two-part definition of trans is 1) promoters promise that legal sex change is a panacea for all sorts of individual problems from childhood psychological problems to men trapped in the "wrong" prison. 2) According to trans promoters, however, in order for the panacea to work, everyone else must be compelled by laws (including school district regulations) to treat trans persons--legal sex changers--as though they actually had changed sex, pronouns and all.

Correct. Also, there is a webpage called Trans Journalists Association Style Guide telling journalists not to write about crimes committed by cross-dressing men and not to tell the stories of women like me, whose husbands now claim to be the mother also. (he's done this for more than 20 years, on documents, all over) My rights evaporated. Today, in NYC, Kellie Jay Keen, a women's rights speaker from the UK, was prevented from attending her own event on lower Broadway in Manhattan; the NYCPD told her they couldn't "risk their men" in the face of the violent, spitting cross-sex activists and men in dresses. I continue to post movement sequences on Ute Heggen YouTube channel to promote body work as first steps in "dysmorphia." The mental health field has failed society completely in this misdiagnosis, which usually stems from abuse, pornography habits and "transsing" of children who probably would grow up to be same sex attracted. Thanks and good luck. Ute

You’re doing a great job at chipping away at this “rock” of insanity. Sooner or later it will crumble.

I think there is a parallel to this in what is happening in the crypto space, which is another cultish mania now collapsing. Just a year ago there was a feeling of inevitability to it - a virtually certain “fortune favours the brave” kind of future but now it’s starting to look like the emperor has no clothes.

Reality has a funny way of reasserting itself when you least expect it.
