Fascinating analysis. I have been writing and speaking about this as well. Before they cancelled my first You Tube channel in 2017 I coined the term, Social Justice Personality Disorder to highlight the etiology of this social phenomenon. Later I prescribed the Nervous Breakdown Approach as the only sure-fire way to stop these people. Batter them with truth and they disintegrate emotionally. It is ruthless, but we are dealing with an anti-social pathogen that is destroying the civil society. Society is more important than any of these disturbed individuals.

You are correct. They are everywhere, now because we refused to deal with them. In my Emotional blackmail piece I described this phenomenon in a different way. Even though I am a compassionate humanist I do not shed a tear when I see parents at school board meetings going after these tyrants. Same with viscously honest memes on the internet. It is us or them. I am sad it has come to this. I describe the phenomenon in our description statement at the National Psychotherapy Association. Mental Health Professionals out there might consider affiliating with us:

"We love our human brothers and sisters profoundly, but unintelligent people, and people with serious mental health problems are now shaping and driving social policies. Delusion, paranoia and groupthink have replaced common sense. Envy, destructive entitlement, and revenge-striving are fueling hostile actions toward good people. The collective actions of these radicals threaten western civilization. We should be providing treatment for these people, not allowing them to rule over us."

I am so sorry for your ordeal. I have been there. It is real trauma. If you need a friend I am here.

I was on Disaffected talking about the Drama Triangle. I mentioned the "Social Justice Warrior" is basically another name for the "Savior" or "Rescuer" role in the drama triangle. This is because they see themselves as warriors trying to protect the so-called "victims of injustice." I think everyone who identifies with that is tied up in the savior-mentality which is deranging.

This hits the nail on the head, but another insidious aspect of Social Justice-itis is how much it also resembles the psychological disorder known as Munchausen by Proxy.

In order for there to be a Savior there first needs to be a Victim, so the Soc Just zealots work to convince their targets how deeply victimized they are, by History, by Whitey, by capitalism, or even by their bodies if they just might have been "born in the wrong one".

First you create the Victim class, then you pump them full of rage and resentment, then you swoop down and tell them that while those other evil people want to hurt them, you've arrived just in time to save the day.

Seems to work perfectly on the young and impressionable.

Yes. Also Josh talks about Munchausen by Proxy a fair amount on the Disaffected Podcast.

Thank you so much for publishing Josh's story, Colin. I spent my undergraduate years fighting the brainwashing of Woke and thinking--for four years--that I was just a shallow thinker who lacked insight because the ONLY terms in which I could understand, discuss, or explain the dynamics on campus and in classes were childhood terms. Josh's show gave me the Rosetta Stone for understanding exactly and precisely what was going on, and set me free from wondering what was wrong with me on that score. There was a very good reason why I saw Cluster B dynamics in almost every class, professor, group, flyer, etc. -- because that's what Woke is. Cluster B reified and given institutional power. My childhood in a Cluster B home was the correct framework. The key to understanding it all. I will always be grateful for Josh's show and have enormous respect for what telling the truth has cost him.

Woke cancelling is the modern day version of being silenced or exiled by the Church. In the past people were shunned, exiled, beaten, imprisoned and tortured because they had differing views than the Church in power did.

The irony of this is that the vast majority of the woke doing the current cancelling would be dead set against the Church doing what they did. Yet those people are now repeating history and are so shortsighted they do not even realise they are exactly the same as those corrupt and entitled religious leaders of old.

I suggest you out the main woke offenders so that the internet can expose them as the scum they are.

Yes, your comment seems very insightful. Just as the Western world is beginning to turn it's back on centuries of Catholicism, the blind obedience types of moralism which long characterized Catholic culture are now emerging in secular culture. I find this to be a very interesting phenomena.

I will disagree with you on outing the woke police though. It's wiser to ignore them. Demonizing them just feeds their power. Example....

About ten years ago I was on a gay Catholic blog whose primary mission seemed to be to rebel against the Vatican. What they didn't seem to realize is that by rebelling against the Vatican they were validating the Vatican's authority over them. Instead, why not simply ignore the Vatican, and proceed to being whatever kind of Catholic you want to be, on your own terms, subservient to no one.

I'm sorry the author got fired, but there's a silver lining. He's now liberated from having to share his life with the Holy Wokers.

Yes, I actually wrote the last line about outing the woke as a sort of shit test. Glad you realised the hypocrisy of someone calling out the cancellers only to then suggest we cancel them.

Gives me confidence that the readers here are for real and actually reading comments.

Thanks for the sincere reply.

I’ve been saying it for years. We are in an abusive relationship with our government. Once you figure it out, you can’t unsee it.

It’s so obvious when they go mental and call you out on normal, basic things, like having a different opinion or stating basic truth, like dudes can’t be women. It’s the reaction that gives the game away.

They talk a good game about interdependence and diversity, but it’s just BS at the end of the day.

The reaction to Trump really told me all I needed to know about ‘my theory’ being right. Liking or not liking him isn’t the issue, but the over the top hate the man received for going against the consensus of the Left and establishment Right.

Being on the right during the Obama years I saw how the right ‘hated’ Obama. The hate for Trump was and still is visceral and very primal. It was a different level of ‘hate.’ Something I’ve never seen in all my years of activism. It wasn’t just friendly banter and Nazi jokes from opponents anymore.

I really hate this culture of conformity, mostly because when I grew up, it was all about the nonconformist freaks, like Boy George, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, hair bands, etc. individuality mattered. Independent thought mattered. Now, you can be an individual to a point, but if you step out of line.....You get canceled. F that. Nobody cares anymore, except we just don’t want to see or hear about your fetishes in public life and have that around kids.

This isn’t that hard.

I didn't "hate Obama. I prayed for him. That is how extreme right I am.

You were way better than I was at time (and the people I was spending time around). It took me a long time to realize the importance of prayer and repent for my behavior towards others. If I couldn’t love my neighbor or pray for my ‘enemies’, then how exactly was I being a good Christian? Admittedly, it still makes me cringe when we pray for our civic leaders at mass every week, but it reminds me that this is exactly how Christians are supposed to behave. We pray for everyone. Every human has dignity regardless of their politics. I think a lot of people have forgotten this basic thing and our culture encourages it.

For many years, while I was working as a Therapist, we shook our heads in despair over the ‘epidemic’ of mental health disorders and psychological distress we were constantly warning was just around the corner. We knew this was coming. There was no funding for talking therapies and we were limited to giving clients 6 sessions. To give any more necessitated a lot of paperwork and verbal justifications with service managers. It has been coming for years, this hell. I don’t know why anyone is surprised.

If you have the capacity, I would appreciate hearing more about this. What did you see that made you think this was coming? Internet cultures, participation awards, some style of parenting? Thank you for your insight.

Hello again Josh. "Transgender" is an elite ingrouping phenomenon that certainly rewards Cluster B characteristics. You were one of the first to make this connection, so of course you have to be destroyed for that. We all do.

Seems being gay and male is very low on the status scale these days. You are the second gay person I know being cast into the void for going against higher order wokism ideology categorization. It’s become somewhat of an ironic joke in my circle—who trumps whom depending on minority status check boxes.

What has not been mentioned (I may have missed it however) and I still believe is that aside from the psychological defects of the people who persecute you, is a dysfunctional need to “virtue signal” among their peer group. To spot victimize and to defend against it—even if there is not connection to oneself. Indeed, where no victimization exists, to create such out of whole cloth! Do gooderism on steroids.

Best of fortune to you in the new year.

I've listened off and on to the Disaffected podcast, but this post really caught my eye. I'm infuriated by what has happened to you Josh, for the mere "crime" of speaking your truth. Something similar happened to me. I'm a psychotherapist. I made a social media post about one of my family members which the "woke" mob didn't like. About 70 of them made complaints to my licensing board about me, demanding I lose my license or be otherwise reprimanded. Mind you, none of these people are or have ever been clients of mine. They are just random people who have nothing better to do than try to destroy me. I'm now having to deal with this. Thank you for the work you've done in the funeral industry. I had no idea how influential you have been and the good you have done for people undergoing loss.

How did we let Child Abusers run society? Child abusers are the worst people on the Planet. From the ACEStudy these Cluster B Child Abusers - engage in 5 types of abuse & they are character disordered:

Violent

Criminal

Mentally Ill

Drug/Oh addicted

They can’t keep a relationship. (These are the 5 household dysfunction categories of the ACE Score). ————-> Cluster B

We let child abusers run society. Growing up around these people increases your risk of attempting suicide by 1400 percent and of injecting drugs by 1500 percent. These people increase your risk of growing up to be raped 700 percent. Almost everyone who grows up around these people is an a Psyche drug and the list goes on and on and on. And somehow these Abusers are running society. Well it won’t be long before society collapses or becomes an East German Stazi state.

Very most excellent description of what the Woke religion can do to people who are genuinely doing good in this fallen world. I am only too happy to cross-post this message and thank Colin for promoting Disaffected.

A man of your caliber in a perfect world would be invited, encouraged and promoted to educate and succor those suffering at the hands of evil, giving them the armor of protection and the sword of knowledge. Sadly, we do not live in a perfect world, but rest assured there are those of us who want and will live in the real world, and people like you speak for us, and help us fight for the rights of us all.

As a paid subscriber, thank you and please accept my sincere regret for what you've endured.

I've been listening to Disaffected for a while. It was recommended by HollyMathNerd before she left Twitter. There seems to be a constant theme to the show that is a prevailing theme in society at large. It is a combination of a cult and a pyramid scheme. Cult leaders tend to be ruled by their own delusions and lack the ability to grow to become existential dangers to society as a whole. What we are experiencing now is not the creation of a delusional individual, but an orchestrated effort by the oligarchy to destroy society in order to "fundamentally transform America" as Obama clearly stated to be the goal.

Josh- Thank you for this and for all of your work. I was bullied out of a job (where I had 30 years of high level experience) this past summer because I would not cow tow to the Pronoun Police and the dynamics were completely cluster B abusive. What a terrible era we are in. However, speaking the truth is always the right thing to do. To quote CS Lewis, “Courage is not simply one of the virtues but the form of every virtue at the testing point, which means at the point of highest reality. ”
